Bilal Lourandon joins Shabab Al Ahli after leaving PSG

The young Moroccan goalkeeper has officially signed with the Emirati club as a free agent, bringing his European football journey to a new chapter.

The young Moroccan goalkeeper Bilal Lourandon has officially decided to continue his football career in the Arabian Gulf, joining the Emirati club Shabab Al Ahli on a free transfer. This move comes following the expiration of his contract with the French powerhouse Paris Saint-Germain at the end of last June, marking a brand new challenge for the promising talent.

A Promising Journey Through PSG Academy

Born in the French city of Gonesse and standing tall at 1.93 meters, Lourandon developed steadily through the youth ranks of Paris Saint-Germain. His dedication allowed him to reach the reserve squad and even catch the attention of the senior coaching staff during crucial moments of the previous season. Although he did not make a competitive official appearance on the pitch, his presence on the bench against FC Lorient in Ligue 1 and against Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League semifinals highlighted his growing reputation in European football.

International Ambitions and Near Misses

On the international stage, the young shot-stopper has already represented Morocco across various youth levels, wearing the Atlas Lions jersey for the Under-18 team and featuring in an official international match with the Under-20 squad. Before finalizing his move to the UAE, Lourandon was very close last March to embarking on a new football adventure in the Azerbaijani league with FC Sabah, before ultimately choosing the Emirati league to showcase his potential.

Next Steps for the Young Goalkeeper

As he settles into his new environment at Shabab Al Ahli, Lourandon will be aiming to secure regular playing time and continue his athletic development. His ultimate goal remains to prove his worth in Asian competitions and push for a future call-up to the senior Morocco national team.
