Zamalek SC was founded in 1911 in Cairo. Its white shirt with red stripes has earned its players the nickname of the White Knights.
Five African titles
Zamalek has won the African Champions League five times: 1984, 1986, 1993, 1996 and 2002. It also won the CAF Confederation Cup in 2019 and 2024.
The Cairo derby
Its rivalry with Al Ahly is one of the most famous in the world. The Cairo derby brings the whole of Egypt to a standstill.
A huge following
Zamalek has millions of supporters in Egypt and across the Arab world, and often plays its big games at the Cairo International Stadium.
