In summer 2025 the United States hosted the first Club World Cup with 32 clubs from six confederations, including Moroccan side Wydad Casablanca.
Chelsea won the final 3-0 against Paris Saint-Germain. The new format placed the tournament on a four-year cycle, like the World Cup for national teams.
