The European Championship, or Euro, is the competition for Europe's national teams. It is played every four years, and the first edition took place in 1960.
The format
Since 2016, the final tournament brings together 24 teams, who first play in groups before the knockout rounds.
The record winners
Spain holds the record with four titles (1964, 2008, 2012, 2024), ahead of Germany (three). France and Italy have each won it twice.
The next editions
Euro 2028 will be held in the United Kingdom and Ireland, and Euro 2032 in Italy and Turkey.
