Before kick-off at Anfield, supporters sing "You'll Never Walk Alone", a show tune that became the club's anthem in the 1960s. The words are written above the Shankly Gates outside the stadium.
The ritual is one of the best-known in world football, and the atmosphere it creates on big European nights is part of Liverpool's reputation.
