Liverpool manager Andoni Iraola has stated that he has complete trust in his high-profile acquisitions Florian Wirtz and Bradley Barcola as the English football club prepares for a crucial European fixture. The team travels to Austria to face the Austrian side Lask in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday night. However, the manager must navigate this important match without several key offensive options, putting extra pressure on the rest of the squad to deliver results on the pitch.
Missing Key Players for the European Clash
The English club will travel to Austria without three of their most influential goalscorers due to ongoing physical issues. Alexander Isak, Cody Gakpo, and Dominik Szoboszlai are all sidelined with minor injuries sustained while representing their respective national teams during the international break. Iraola confirmed during his pre-match press conference that he currently does not know when any of the three injured players will be fully recovered and available to return to competitive action for the club.
Andoni Iraola Relies on Wirtz and Barcola
In the absence of the trio, the tactical burden falls heavily upon other members of the squad. Iraola expressed absolute confidence in his major summer investments, stating that he has one hundred percent trust in the abilities of Florian Wirtz and Bradley Barcola. Nevertheless, the coach emphasized that other members of the squad must step up and provide the necessary attacking numbers to compensate for the missing goals in this intense football competition.
Next Match Fixture
Following the UEFA Champions League encounter against Lask in Austria, Liverpool will quickly turn their attention back to domestic duties as the demanding season schedule continues.
