Asia's club competitions were reorganised in 2024 into three levels, run by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC).
Three competitions
The AFC Champions League Elite brings together the continent's best clubs. Below it come the AFC Champions League Two and the AFC Challenge League.
The dominant clubs
Al Hilal of Saudi Arabia is the most successful club in the history of the Asian Champions League. Saudi Arabia's Al Ahli won the first edition of the Elite format in 2025.
Arab clubs in the spotlight
Clubs from Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the UAE and Iraq regularly compete with the East Asian giants from Japan and South Korea.
