The Botola Pro 2 is the second division of Moroccan football. It is organised by the National Professional Football League under the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF).
The format
The clubs play each other twice, home and away, over a full season. Each win earns three points, a draw one point.
Promotion and relegation
The top two clubs at the end of the season are promoted to the Botola Pro, the top flight. The bottom clubs drop down to the National Amateur Championship.
Historic clubs
The Botola Pro 2 often includes clubs with a long history and a big following, which makes the race for promotion very intense. Many players have used it as a springboard to the top flight.
