Borussia Dortmund denied victory in Bundesliga football
In a dramatic encounter within the German Bundesliga football championship, the league leaders Borussia Dortmund missed out on a 100% start after being held to a draw by Werder Bremen. Despite controlling large portions of the match, the home side failed to secure all three points following a late surge from their opponents in an action-packed fixture.
Late drama unfolds in the German league
The match seemed comfortably decided when Daniel Svensson and Nico Schlotterbeck scored in quick succession, putting Borussia Dortmund 2-0 ahead heading into the final stages of the game. Werder Bremen fights back
Refusing to surrender, Werder Bremen started their resurgence when Ludovit Reis found the back of the net to narrow the deficit. The crucial moment arrived deep into added time when the German striker Niclas Füllkrug, currently on loan from West Ham, scored a brilliant header against his former club to equalize.

Following this unexpected setback, Borussia Dortmund will need to regroup quickly to maintain their ambitions at the top of the league table, while Werder Bremen aims to build momentum from this morale-boosting result as the football season continues.
